Dream to Reality
Stepping back in time to around 1994 when I possessed a poor-quality portable electric typewriter, I began to write the story I visualised in the dream. Soon after, I purchased one of the first stand-alone word processors, this proved just as difficult to use due to the small aperture showing 3 partial lines of text only. Therefore, an upgrade to what was referred to at the time as a ‘486 Windows PC’ was made. Before I put pen to paper, it was important to me that the storyline should be both feasible and plausible rather than fanciful or too far-fetched, it had to be believable. On completion of the initial draft, I then checked and double checked the contents; I also saved it to the only form of electronic memory I had – Five; 3.5” floppy disk drives. I even printed the whole novel out on a full ream of A4 just in case the files got corrupted – I then sadly left the work on the shelf due to lack of time to pursue the matter combined with I'm sad to admit, a lack of confidence!
